Access, Actors and Accountability: The Role of Researchers in AI Governance
Short description
Independent researchers help authorities understand AI systems and digital platforms. This project examines their legal position under the Digital Services Act and AI Act, including access rights, research exemptions and protections for academic freedom.
The researcher will combine legal and comparative analysis with interviews and participatory research to investigate what helps evidence inform policy, and develop safeguards for independent research.
