Prototyping the Rule: Software Engineering for Regulatory Learning
Short description
Software engineers test prototypes before releasing a product. This project explores how regulators can use a similar approach to test proposed interventions before adopting them fully, and adjust them as evidence emerges.
The researcher will build and evaluate prototypes such as disclosure formats, audit cycles and review triggers in pilots with authorities. The work will produce a framework, a library of protocols and practical guidance for incorporating prototyping into regulatory review.
