Marzia Mortati

Marzia Mortati, PhD in Design, is Associate Professor at the Department of Design, Politecnico di Milano, where she teaches and researches Service Design, Public Sector Innovation, and AI-enabled transformation. Her research explores the intersection of design, artificial intelligence and governance, with particular attention to how human-centred approaches can contribute to the responsible adoption of emerging technologies and to organisational and institutional change. She has extensive experience in European research, including as Coordinator of the MSCA Doctoral Network CoDesign4Transitions and as Principal Investigator in European initiatives on AI for public services, GovTech and digital governance. She is Academic Director of the International Master in AI for Public Services and collaborates with UNESCO on capacity building for AI and digital transformation in the public sector. Her research has been published in journals including Design Studies, Journal of Service Research, Technovation, Design Issues, Policy Sciences and The Design Journal.
