Between Flexibility and Fixity: Supervisory Authority and Power Shifts in AI Governance
Short description
Flexible rules can help regulation keep up with AI, but people and organisations also need to know what the law requires. This project examines how flexibility changes the balance of power between lawmakers, supervisors, standard-setting organisations and private actors.
Using the AI Act to structure comparisons, the researcher will study how supervisory authorities organise their work and use their powers. Document analysis, interviews and process tracing will connect regulatory design to legal predictability and protection for citizens.
